3.     Using the Web, identify some certifications with an information security component that were not discussed in this chapter.

-        Interestingly, there were no certifications mentioned for a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NCSF), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), and a Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) just to name a few. †

4.     Search the Web for at least five job postings for a security analyst. What qualifications do the listings have in common?

-        The most frequently common requirements are, bachelorís degree usually in computer science or related field, a couple years of experience, strong knowledge of cyber security, common certifications recommended are CISSP, GIAC, and C|SA.

1.     What questions should Iris ask Charlie about the new job, Kevinís team, and the future of the company?

-        Questions to ask: How will pay and benefits will change? What do the job duties require? Where will she be in relations to Kelvinís team? How will training be conducted and what is required? Will there be a trial period of 90 days, and if decided would Iris be able to go back to her old position if its not the best fit?

2.     What questions should Iris ask Kelvin about the new job?

-        Get Kelvins point of view on the matter. Charlie thinks she is a good fit, but does Kelvin believe the same and why? Ask questions on how Kelvin will run things. See if Kelvin, as her supervisor, is the best fit for her as her supervisor. Will he be an encouraging supervisor and understand she needs to be trained well.


Ethical Decision Making:

Suppose that Iris and Kelvin were involved in a romantic relationship, unknown to anyone else in the company. Such relationship is not against company policy, but married employees are specifically prohibited from being in a direct reporting relationship with each other.

1.     Should Iris inform Charlie about her relationship with Kelvin if she does not plan to apply for transfer?

-        Since it is not against company policy to date and they are not going to be in a direct reporting relationship then she isnít required to disclose their relationship.

2.     If she does apply for the job, but has no current plans for marriage, should she inform Charlie of her relationship?

-        If Iris is going to transfer, then yes, she should inform Charlie. Even though they are not married or have plans for marriage; having dating employees where one is a subordinate is asking for trouble. Itís usually best to be straight forward and transparent in a situation such as this.
