17. What should you determine during the planning stage of a website?

In the planning stage of a website, you should identify the purpose of the website and characteristics of the audience of your website. You should determine ways to make your website stand out from other similar ones. You should also determine how you want navigation to flow in your website and register your domain name.

18. What steps are involved in web publishing?

Five steps are involved in web publishing. Step one is planning and consists of things like determining what the purpose and the domain name of your website will be. Step two is to Design the website. This step involves determining the appearance, colors, formats, content, and the layout of elements for your website. Step three is actually creating your website and involves using a CMS, or other web authoring software. Step four is Hosting the website. You will need to transfer your content to a webserver. A couple options are paying a monthly fee to a web hosting service, contacting your ISP and see if they offer web hosting. Step five is maintaining your website. You will need to consistently check your website in order to make sure all the hyperlinks are still functioning properly, keep information on your website correct and current, make changes in response to feedback, and to run analytics to better understand what the end user is experiencing.

I find Google’s results to be more useful, because when searching for something, it gives you the relevant information closer to the top of your results instead of loading you down with as many ads. The flight information they provided was much more thorough than the other two search engines. They provided a map and image for the location of google headquarters.
